IOMARS are running a foundation course based at the Shack in Ballasalla on Wednesday nights. The theory course will be on the 8/9 the of December at the shack with the exam at 14:00 on Sunday the 9th December 2018. The cost will be £27.50 for members and £37.50 for non members. We can’t do the practical on air until you are registered and need to give at least 2 weeks notice to the RSGB for the exam. I would ask you to fill in the attached application form ASAP and get it to the IOMARS along with payment either via the shack on Wednesday or any committee member. We will not be able to take any applications after November the 24th. It will be in time for Christmas so you can tell your relatives you want that new rig for Christmas.Any queries please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The 2018 IOMARS AGM is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday 11th December 2018, 19:30 hours at the sea cadet building Tromode.

The IOMARS Full Licence Course starts this Wednesday, 24 October at 19.00 in the Malew Scout Building in Ballasalla. The course will be upstairs rather than in the main hall.
The requested manuals have now arrived so they will be ready for collection.
I will be dealing mainly with passive components, resistors, capacitors and inductors and combinations there off, in this first session, so please bring along some of your own for measurement. I will have an LCR meter with me, which can also measure ESR, Q and phase angle.

A recent member consultation re the annual rental of the club shack in Ballasalla resulted in only positive responses.
The committee are now pleased to advise everyone that the IOMARS club shack will continue to be at Mill Road, Ballasalla until further notice.

All Just a reminder its shack night tonight in Ballasalla. I have still only had one completed application form for the intermediate exam as of the time of typing this and I need them in before 09:00 on Monday10th. Excellent opportunity to drop in tonight, drop your forms off and say hi to your fellow Radio hams face to face .
Due to the difficulties of travel over the TT period we have decided not to hold club evening meetings at the shack in Ballasalla . Back again straight after TT 2018.

Manx repeater supporters…..
Just to keep you all updated, I have today paid the annual insurance premium of £70 for the seven Manx repeaters namely GB3GD, GB3IM-C, GB3IM-R, GB3IM-S, GB3IM-P, GB7CA, GB7BR.
This insurance is primarily for 3rd party risks.
This is one of the ways the IOMARS support our repeater keeper David Osborn GD4HOZ.
