A course was concluded and an exam held today for three candidates.
We had two passes, and sadly one candidate who just missed out.
We hope the ‘third man’ will give it another shot ASAP.
In the meantime congratulations Mark and Neil, watch out for two new MD6 calls soon.
The society wishes to thank the Civil defence for their hospitality and the following members for giving their time to help.
GD3TNS Arthur, GD7DUZ Steve, 2D0JEA Jeanie, GD0OUD Stuart, GD6ICR Mike, 2D0YLX Dave and GD1MIP Me. And of course Peter MD6IOM, AKA the tea lad.

Just wanted to say many thanks to the Civil Defence and to all who gave up their Saturday to help us newbies get a foot on the ladder. Special thanks to ‘teacher’ Andy who did a fine job! I’m sure the ‘third’ man’ will pass it fine next time 😉
Well done to the folks who have passed – hope to hear you on the air soon 🙂
Good luck next time for the candidate who just missed out !!
It was a good course. I enjoyed it. Although I may not give up my day job.

Got my license and call sign sorted yesterday. I’m now MD6IMX. Just trying to get my head around programming the local repeaters into the UV-5R!
If you need a hand programming them in Steve GD7DUZ will be able to help. He has just programmed dave MD6TSW radio give him a shout or MSG on Facebook. Nice call by the way 🙂
